Humpty Trumpty’s Bombs Fail to Impress
PLUS: San Diego Resistance Calendar June 26 - July 4, 2025
What started out as an act of foreign policy dominance –dropping bunker buster bombs on Iran– has triggered a domestic war on the press.
The New York Times, CNN and others have all reported on an initial assessment of the Midnight Hammer mission by the Defense Intelligence Agency says Iran’s nuclear program has only been delayed a few months and asserts that much of Iran’s enriched uranium was moved to secret locations.
The very idea that Dear Leader’s zoomies failed to obliterate the nuclear capabilities of the evil ones shouting Death to America! is being treated as heresy. Fake News!, Not True! says the White House, which has reacted by ending the method used for Congressional oversight on classified matters, and loudly attacked those reporting this story and the publications bringing it to light.
Not since Galileo’s second inquisition over the temerity of his observation that the Earth revolves around the sun has the world seen such fury applied to a simple assertion of fact.
These days everything the President does is amazing. Therefore, the bombs dropped down the ventilation shafts of Iran’s underground nuclear facilities had to be the most amazing head-turning destruction you’ve ever seen.
From the White House vantage point, the media should be reporting on the people lining up to tell President Trump with tears in their eyes that Midnight Hammer was so amazing and they’ve never seen anybody do anything like it before.
Seriously, questioning the success of the US attack on three sites is now being equated with disparaging the military with unpatriotic motives.
The DC press corps got a close up and personal experience in a Defense Department briefing on Thursday morning with the face and demeanor of what many families have to endure every morning when living with a raging alcoholic. Portions of the video record of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s tantrum should be included in future college psychology courses.
Of course, the President loved the encounter, calling it “one of the greatest, most professional and confirming” press conferences he’d ever seen.
