Thank you for writing this wonderful piece. I am amazed every day how many wishful thinkers embrace scams. I am especially grateful for your analysis which makes many things I am not able to understand so very clear and straight foward. I studied humanities exclusively, thus I don't have the background. I compare the experience with the masterful way Cokie Roberts of NPR used to explain the budget process in DC and make it understandable to those of us who don't understand economics.
I have a friend also undergoing cancer treatment and the chemo caused a severe and ugly rash that was quite itchy. Fortunately it is gone now. Having supported her through that I have some understanding of what you experience.
Bless you for continuing to write during these days of chemo.
Your observations and analyses continue to instruct and amaze me, Doug, as does your resilience.
You are one damn tough cookie. If I believed in higher powers, I’d think the gods are pissed off that their Plan A, then their Plan B to overpower your voice did not work, and they have now become C students.
So much sense and experience/investigation-based sensibility in this post. Everyone with health concerns, e.g. everyone should read it. I consider myself lucky.
Straightforward, informative, no bullshit. I never miss a column.
Excellent post Doug. So sorry you are going through this but you are making wise decisions.
