Stumbling Across the Finish Line: Personal Logbook 6.12.22
I am not dead. I did end up in the hospital for another couple of weeks after things went south with May 12’s dicing and slicing.
I have scars everywhere, zero veins left unpoked, and a huge list of medications to consume daily, plus infusions.. Between meds, wound care, and other routines, I’m looking at a full time job just healing for the next couple of weeks. And am thankful I’ve got family close in to help where needed.
All, in all, I’m a lucky guy. In addition to the physical challenges, being anesthetized and confined to a hospital bed has psychological impacts, IMO. When I first came home last weekend, I could barely type; my reliance on autocorrect and spell check notwithstanding.
And then there’s The Fog; kinda like May Gray for the brain.
That said, I expect my energy level will continue to rise. Just to keep things exciting, there’s another surgery scheduled for late July to connect tissues that should complete my reconstruction.
So I can safely predict my postings will appear at irregular intervals. I’ll do the best I can. On the national level I expect to argue that Republican vs Democrat isn’t the issue; it’s Democracy vs Autocracy.
On the local level, my impression coming out of the primary is that the city’s democrats are in league with a bunch of snakes.
There is much to be said and more to be done. *We* are at a crossroads. I’ll do my best to illuminate better paths forward.
