Need Some Help Voting? Here's My Voter Guide!
Info for San Diego Voters From A Progressive Viewpoint
Counties in California have mailed 2022 general election ballots to 22 million registered California voters. It’s time to start making some decisions. I beg you not to procrastinate; let’s get this over with.
The midterm cycle began on January 6, 2021 with the practice coup attempt aimed at overturning the presidential election.
Since then, ideologues and theocrats have fanned out around the country planting the seeds of distrust in democracy, organizing volunteers to gum up the mechanisms necessary to count and verify votes, and inferring falsehoods designed to portray themselves as victims of evildoing at the hands of anybody who doesn’t share their views..
The Supreme Court’s ruling on abortion and the subsequent displays of of misogyny by a broad swath of Republicans have made the importance of this election clear to a broad swath of voters
In California, Republican voter registrations have continued shrinking to under 24% of the electorate. The $200 million attempted recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom failed in a landslide. And the party has maybe one chance at electing a statewide official.
The big picture is what’s important now. It’s not enough to simply defeat reactionary candidates; they’ve got to lose by margins large enough to send an affirmative message about the resolve of Americans to keep and improve upon our system of democracy. Not voting is the same as voting for bad people.

Below are my suggestions for voters. Follow the (green) links to relevant websites, legacy media, and social media for details on candidates and ballot measures.
I expect people will have disagreements with some choices, and that’s okay by me. I’m not perfect, but have tried hard to research and write up information to make your task of voting easier.
Thank you for reading.
